Training programs are developed by content experts, based on specific needs, and customized to the unique circumstances of every client organization. Courses are outcome-oriented and designed to prepare a changing workforce for a changing future. Consultation services for program development are provided at no charge to training clients.
VCCS/Apprenticeship-related instruction programs offered through WCC
include the Journeyman Certification for Machinist. In partnership with
the Department of Labor and Industry’s Apprenticeship Program and
area employers, skill specific on-the-job training is supported with both
classroom and online instructional resources.
|
WCC has set aside facility space to meet employer needs. Classroom
space can be reserved for learning opportunities such as training on new
equipment, instruction concerning new technologies, and work-related skill
enhancement.
Additionally, the Crossroads Institute (Galax) and the Smyth County Education
